Increased demand for electro-mechanical assembly leads to significant expansion in Broxton’s integration services

Sheet metalwork specialist, Broxton Industries Limited, has announced significant enhancements to its assembly services.  The company now offers everything from the supply of mechanical enclosures to full assembly of computer products, including software loading and test.

Broxton’s purpose-built assembly area has already been increased to 2,500 square feet and will be increased by a further 40 per cent in the near future.  It is designed to provide maximum flexibility, enabling the company to respond quickly to changing customer needs.

The dedicated mechanical assembly cells give a clean and productive environment whilst the flexible flow cells for electro-mechanical assembly are designed to be quickly and easily configured for each build, reducing setup costs considerably.  The cells comply with the latest Electro Static Discharge (ESD) requirements and have integrated software loading and functional test stations.  Each cell is equipped with high speed pneumatic tools and consignment fastener stocks.  The design, which facilitates optimum flow planning, enables Broxton to offer extremely competitive pricing and lead times.

‘Whilst our original mechanical assembly business has remained buoyant we have recently seen extremely strong customer demand for electro-mechanical assemblies – a relatively new area for us,’ says Broxton managing director, Marcus Ellams.  ‘We have added to and re-designed our flow cells to meet this demand, and I am delighted that we are not only winning significant new business but have also seen several existing customers start to use Broxton for these additional services.  We have already trebled the number of skilled electro-mechanical assembly operatives and envisage that our workforce will continue to increase: another fully-equipped flow cell is about to be installed.’
